| Quote Exeter Rhino="Exeter Rhino"Just finished it last night, and saw two of the endings. I can see where the criticism comes from - especially on the Normandy scenes, which I would have just left out to leave things to the player's imagination. I actually thought the 3 choices were OK - very Deus Ex (some might say Deus Ex lite). But it definitely didn't ruin my experience, although I was preparing myself for the worst. It would have nice to have had a happy ending (and fully explained) like ME1, but this wouldn't have fit with the arc of the story IMO. The final section on Earth is entirely satisfactory if you consider that to be the real ending (i.e. the story of the team you have built making the ultimate sacrifice, the lead-up with everyone saying their goodbyes etc).
I've decided to start afresh and play everything through again from ME1 & buy some dlc for the 3 games (something I've resisted so far). Is all the dlc good, or are there expansions to be avoided? Not too bothered about buying extra equipment.'"
I know what you mean. As I said the game overall is amazing. Some stuff has been taken out that I liked on ME2. I'd have preffered the dialog to be more like ME1 & 2 with the convo wheel instead of auto dialog, to be fair I thought overall the voice acting was better. I just didn't think the ending made sense and was full of contradictions. Before the games was released it was reported to have 16 DIFFERENT endings - Thats not true there were 3 endings that were 95% the same.
You should play most of ME2's DLC. Arrival, Project Overlord and The Shadowbroker are essential to the story overall. Arrival especially as its the real ending to ME2.

| Quote Robbo="Robbo"Rumours are surfacing about the possibility of the next gen consoles banning used games from being played on them, Nothing been confirmed yet but I think it would be a bad move. It would certainly put me of buying a next gen console. Nothing confirmed yet mind and I could only see it leading to more demand for console hacks and illegal game pirating.
thoughts?'"
I mentioned this to my Mrs on a whim the other night, hadn't seen it on here first either, said something like 'how long do you think it will be until a game disc becomes console-specific'.

That's the latest rumour I've seen.
First it was the actual discs will be locked to one PSN/Gamertag then that's evolved to you will only be able to get games via direct download which will then be locked to the PSN/Gamertag the game was downloaded on.

If that's the case, then surely games should drop in price due to decreased material costs, (no discs, cases, cover art etc). Though i wouldn't bet on it, seeing as i've just logged into XBL and found that FIFA12 on demand is £50. It wasn't even above £40 in most shops!

They are forced into expensive download prices by the retailers. Retail is still generating 90+% of game sales for 360, publisher's who are taking away their business by offering cheaper download prices will find they no longer have any of their games on the featured shelf as you walk into the shop, or at the start of the aisle in ASDA, or the front page of the Amazon game section.
If piracy wasn't so rife for PC games you wouldn't see all the great deals on Steam either.

| Got round to finishing Arkham City the other day. Wasn't expecting the ending at all. The final boss is a bit rubbish, another one of those games where it's just too easy compared to what you've already done during the game.
Anyone played Crysis 2? Picked it up on the cheap for about a tenner and enjoying it so far. It's a bit different from your average shooter. Nice graphics even for a game that's a couple of years old and it gives you quite a bit of freedom for how you go about getting to your objective.

Its barely 12 months old. I loved it and at the time it was the best game I've seen on a console. Its got a good story. Although its far easier than the first game although I prefer it overall.

Its an absolute joke. 15 years ago you could understand why N64 games were 50 quid each with them being cartridges but to still charge that now for dlc games is robbery. Reason why I never buy a game on release day. I've wanted SSX for a couple of months and I managed to get it for under £25 now!

No idea why I thought 2 years, must be another game! Managed to finish it last night and it did get a bit too easy towards the end, mainly because the stealth on the suit had become overpowered and you could just choose to avoid all enemies or wait until they're on their own and sneak attack them. Some great set pieces though. Loved the massive alien things you had to fight. I'll definitely get a third one if they make it.
