The first half try to batley which was a million miles forward (which was discussed by thevref and TJ) effectively Won you the game. We just don't like losing in an unfair manner.

Now you get me going, I wasn't going to post much whilst still full of emotions.



Batleys second and third tries were blatantly forward passes, one the touch judge even stood his ground on, only to be overruled by Mr Batley. I have never seen so many forward passes go un penalized.



Then there is the 5.9 dive on 79 minutes, a penalty? Come on.... even Karl, talking on radio Leeds wasn't convinced.



I firmly believe that we threw the game away in the first 40 minutes when Batley outplayed us and out enthused us, but Calland summed it up by saying we were dreadful for 40 minutes and we had a half where every 50/50 decision went against us.



Fair play to Batley, they stuck in there and begged for a penalty at the end, which was gifted to them, but they were only in that position due to poor decision making on behalf of Halifax.



It's in the record books. Onwards and upwards to whitehaven.

your joking, that second try he gave was never a try, the player dropped in ball in the tackle which was clear to see, the linesman stood back as he knew it was not a try, but you the ref over ruled him,thing is he was the wrong side of him to see the so called grounding,i was stood in that corner and seen it plain as day,as for that penalty what a joke with all the stuff he had let go all day,

Odd. I must have missed the numerous decisions that went your way during the game, including the sending-off and sin-binning for our players. The next time you 'win' a game due to a contentious decisions (and believe me you'll benefit from a contentious decision at some stage of the season), I take it you'll be keeping your cake hole shut as opposed to crowing from the roof tops. I guess you won't like winning 'unfairly' either.

As for you coach, his comments on the radio after the game were arrogant and disrespectful. To label another teams tactics (I must be going blind, what was this 'wrestling' rubbish he was droning on about?) as 'cheating' is a disgrace.

Anyway, this thread is rendered pretty pointless given the fact that Jamie Leahy is a Dewsbury lad, and has supported Dewsbury since being a young kid. Admirable attempt to clutch at straws though.

Did any of your Tries come from dubious descisions? Worrincey offside from the kick maybe?

Did you get away with things that should have been penalised? Barlow third man in the tackle with the forearm?

No thought not!

If you go on the Bulldogs message board you will see that a fair few Batley fans are mad at the biassed ref and Touch Judge.



I was 14 and the Bulldogs Stats man when I learned that descisions go both ways and not to blame a ref for a bad performance!

If you watch the game closely and take off your blinkers you might enjoy it more.

I wasn't at the game but a) i'm sure the ref called in our favour a bit and b) they even themselves out over a season I'm sure.



Blaming the ref after our first proper test just because we didn't win is a bit classless to be honest.

I blame Batley for turning up....

On balance the best side on the day won. Hopefully we will learn from some basic errors and move on. Being a RL ref is not easy. Leahy is still one of the best, although he dropped a few clangers.

We didn't deserve anything playing 40 mins like we did that first half. Decisions bad by ref or not we simply were awful and never looked interested for the whole 1st half! We now have a job to do midweek in a long trip to Cumbria!! Why don't we learn from past mistakes??
