| Aye I remember the whole Gleeson ordeal, when the Fev fans gave him a load of stick. But Black was never linked with Fev was he? I recall him being linked with Widnes but never Fev.  |

yea good point about Gleesson, i was more refering to the palyer coach Brad Davies fiasco and then the micky Higham rumpus that went on.
Bottom line is players pre arriving make a decison they think will be best for them, its a bit like being gazumped on a house, i seem to remeber that newcastle made an approach for Rooney which paved the way for Man u to sign him
as i said Paul Smith in my opnion, is looking at learning from millward for future coaching roles so Leigh is a better option for him
as for the others
Gleeson saw Fax as a better option
Davis saw cas as his beter option
Higham saw over the tops as a better option
and in hindsight they were all proabably right!

Smith would not offer too much for me as he is 34-we have enough old heads! He also has not played too much this season I understand so is lacking match fitness. I would prefer us to sign youngsters either on loan or properly. Look at Dom Maloney for example. Great signing and young who will be around for a few years hopefully. Smith is a short term move for Fax as we have some good coaches in Ball, Gonzo etc. Maybe Leigh are looking for a coaching member and why he went there. I doubt it is a major loss for Fax if he signed last minute for Leigh to be honest.

It's news to me mate. As I remember it, when we first signed Blacky we brought him over from Aus as a virtual unknown. I definitely think you are confusing him with Gleeson. |

I think he means Ben Fisher TBH. I'm sure i read that on the interview he did for this message board or the Norths message board that he was going there before being told Halifax was available.
