That would fit in with Rhino's comment on Tuesday night that there were a couple of players still holding out from signing.

Penky will have been the first player offered a deal. If he were staying he would have signed it weeks or even months ago. He is leaving, I think we need to accept it and talk about a replacement.

Not many players could replace him, that's the problem. Andy Ellis would be someone who could but he has got his chance in super league, I cant think of many players as good as penky that would want to come and play for fax.

As it's past the deadline for players to speak to other clubs, would Penky necessarily have to tell Halifax if he has signed for someone else?

Probably not but why lie about it, he said himself yesterday that he hadn't signed for anybody yet. we have this every year!

One of my mates has text me to say it's confirmed in the courier today that penky is joining Leigh. Can't see a link on the website yet.
