Quote justthebasicfax="justthebasicfax"RM is doing his best to get every ounce out of these lads, the simple fact is other teams have moved on, and we haven't been able to afford to in the areas we need to.
Muzza' legs have gone, not going, gone.... we are a little better with Grady and Kaye in, but ultimately unless our pack is steam rolling a side, and we are backing up, were on a hiding to nothing.
I will back RM all the way, and so should we all.
If we can squeeze a couple of inspired games from Muzza, and Johnno and Rob can keep hold of the ball, and offer us credit in attack, we can sneak into the 4 still, but my worry is we now need another club to capitulate, through injuries or disharmony.
Richard is probably more aware than any of us on the areas we need to improve, but we have what we have.
If we could get a month out of AOB that would be a massive tonic.'"
Mirrors my thoughts. The team have the motivation and energy, but not the skills to make it count. Toulouse were out on their feet in the 2nd half, but we didn't have the guile/skill to take advantage. We can't really blame RM for his recruitment, given the limited funding. What we need is another Martin Hall, who can root out class players willing to give it a go with Fax.
Btw, I still don't understand why the guy with a pair of the biggest hands in RL can't keep hold of the ball? Losing it in the tackle has to be down to technique surely? It's a love/hate thing with Rob!
Btw #2. Muzza might not have a turn of speed on him (a shame, because he can spot a gap better than most in our team), but we need to find a replacement in the motivation and leadership department if he goes. From what I've observed, Mitch might be the man for the job? Maybe Muzza could be the new Martin Hall!!?
Btw #3. Jonno. How frustrating. Great grubber kick on him, but he should be turning into a new Rob Burrow by now. He could be a great player, but needs some serious mentoring to make it happen.
Btw #4. James Woodburn-Hall. He also can be a great player, hopefully for Fax, but does need to learn some positional play on defence (being kind!).
Btw #5. Will Sharp. How hard does he try to make things happen? He's maybe lost a yard of pace (unfortunately), but if the rest of the team had his enthusiasm and commitment we wouldn't go far wrong.
Btw #6. Ben Heaton. Oh Ben, where has that leg drive gone from a couple of seasons ago when you were 5 yards from the line?
