Might be able to help you on that. I have been told and this is very reliable and genuine. Castleford have terminated the deal with Ben Bailey homes some weeks ago. They have engaged a development company who specialise in developing land for supermarkets. The land value is much greater than if it was for housing.

May I refer one particular rather negative Wakefield poster to the thread where I stated he would be eating his words within the next couple of weeks.

So are things signed sealed and delivered or is this just a plan??? Do we have an interested party or interested parties???

Let's hope this pulls off. It could only really be with Sainsburys as we already have the other big ones in the area? Still, in a sad way it'll be yet another thing to kill off the town centre.

It wont stop Morrisons & Tesco wanting in because they're in Ponte, moving into Cas will give them more customers because I suspect some people go to Asda just because it's the closest.

It's not up to them. There's a law preventing the companies to have a huge supermarket in every town.... hence why i said Sainsburys. It's why we're seeing "Express" shops opening up all over the place as it's a loophole.
