Glad we have signed a centre - however, didn't he have another year to run on his Saints contract?



If so, given that we don't like to pay transfer fees - anyone know what the compensation was? are we going to lose a player to Saints?

Not too sure about that one - but Saints gave him permission to speak to other clubs. I wonder who the other "interested parties" were ? Obviously Hull KR were one of them.

From a Trinity fan all I can say is great signing, our young players need to realise that the grass is not always greener. This is a great deal for Cas, he is class. I think you, like us are averaging about 30 points a game against this season. Put Shenton in the team and that straight away goes down to at least 20 which means you win more games. I see that Saints fans are reporting that he will be on £ 130,000 a year which sounds about right for a player of his quality but what they do not tell you is that Saints a paying a large chunck of his first seasons wages. Got to be a gret deal for Cas.

Great to see Shenny coming back and I hope this is an indication of the calibre of player Millward might be able to attract to the club. I've said we need to give him the time to build his own squad - he's got off to a damn good start.

I have to admit, my board interface looks quite barren now with quite a lot of buttons having vanished. With fewer buttons come less responsibility - woop woop!

I like Shenny, I really do. So let's make that very clear, and if he brings his 'A' game, he is a top centre in our game!



However, when leaving Cas his justification was that he wanted the opportunity to be part of a successful winning team set up. (In the same statement he was also basically saying that Cas was not a winning set up.) If that is his key driving motivation, and the situation has only worsened at Cas since his departure, then he's either prepared for disappointment or he's happy to be blinkered by money.



If an employee left your business with a parting statement that the reason that they were leaving was because they wanted to be part of a successful setup, that was going places etc......would you take them back? For me it would involve a 'cap in hand' discussion, and it would have to be a bl**dy good deal in my favor not theirs!!



Anyway, welcome back Shenny you're lucky that the Board at Cas are too soft to survive in the real world!

Strange decision this from Shenton, hes taken a backwards step.



Hes a good defensive centre and has had a lot to live up to at Saints. Saints had world class centres before he arrived such as Jamie Lyon.

It's simple really. Their current coach didn't sign Shenny and obviously Nathan Brown doesn't rate him. Probably got another big name signing coming in so Saints want rid.
