having read some bitter views from both sides my points are,



both teams had there fair share of good and bad luck last night and both sides had reasons to moan about ian smith.



it was a great game and a draw would have been fair. however we made a good break, there was no knock on or forward pass, and and sherwin knocked on.unfortunate for him as he had a good game otherwise.

cas had more of the ball and were better going forward. leeds defence was supurb though and when we did manage to get forward we looked liked scoring.



all in all a great game.we sneaked the win,which i'm glad about obviously but good luck for the rest of the season(apart from the return game

Don't know why Cas fans are blaming the referee. He penalised Leeds for laying on but let Cas lay on ever so slightly longer.



Doesn't really matter though. Cas probably wont play better than that this season and they still couldnt beat a seriously out of sorts Leeds side.

Leeds first 3 tries were while the rain was at its worst.

Seen Cas play better then that already this season, so that point is nul & void straight away.



Even if it was an "out of sorts Leeds team" how about Cas? it's not like they were missing: Owen, Huby, Hudson, Widders, Netherton & losing McGoldrick early on put Cas at a massive disadvantage, and them 6 missing are a bigger loss then Donald & Burrow.

buderus was offside when he "knocked on" for the rhinos disallowed try and so cas should have been awarded a penalty. thaler gave that decision so I can't really complain about ian smith on that one



overall was gutted with the loss but the boys battled well in shocking conditions. yes the penalty count was well in our favour but deservedly imo. cas did get away with some decisions as well but it was the key decisions (dixon tackled in air etc) that didn't go our way that could have tipped the balance in our favour.



The main difference though was that the Rhinos defence was very good and with the amount of possesion and field position that we had we failed to break it down enough times.



Still optimitic that we can maintain a playoff place til the end of the season though.

The game is over and done with. Cas and Leeds don't meet again until 14th August. Shall we all let the bitching from both sides sto now as it isn't going to do any good ?

what a load of HYPOCRITES the rhinos people trying to tell us about overseas players. all they have done for the last 30-40 years is try to sign every best aussie or new zealander going, got bailed out by mr caddick from airedale in castleford and eventually in came the youth policy which as worked out quite well so far not forgetting about the likes of webb, donald, buderus, leuluai, and a mr eastwood currently enjoying life with canterbury bulldogs.
