The last time I remember seeing one as bad as that was at the Recreation Ground where John Carroll suffered a similar compound fracture on the heavily sanded pitch.



Although Carroll returned he was never the same player and a promising career was never fulfilled.



Perhaps surgical techniques are better these days so hopefully the same outcome will be avoided and obviously all best wishes go to the mighty Chevron tonight.

Maximum respect Rhinos fans you could see people in the Carnegie Stand stood up during the there's only one Chev Walker chant and one of the KR players clapped that stand. Walker must be a real trooper because after being down on the ground having oxygen he clapped the Southstand.



It really reaffirms that we really are followers of the greatest game it's just a shame that we only seem to get these comments when comparing ourselves to other sports or when terrible events like this take place. Let's be honest we already know this when we are mixing in pubs together having a laugh.



Senior knew straight away what had happened and he looked visibly shaken (which is understandable) so he did really well to get his head around carrying on playing. It probably came out when he scored his try. It clearly knocked the intensity out of the game for the next few minutes so hats off to the warriors on both sides left on the field.



As for the injury itself you could see the bone pushing his sock out and after realising this Sky stopped showing any replays. He has one thing in his favour though in that it was quite high up the bone so hopefully it is a clean bone break and there isn't any ligament damage to his ankle. There didn't seem to be too much blood on his sock so again that means that hopefully he hasn't damagedany major blood vessels but the biggest risk is actually infection but he should have made it to hospital quite quickly.

Absolutly horrible hope he gets back to playing soon!

Looked really bad and you could see how bad it was right from the back of the southstand. I hope that it isnt a career threatening injury, because he doesnt deserve it as he is a quality player.



Credit to the southstand tonight when it happened because they were immense and acknowledged it straight away, which was unbelieveable.

As a Leeds fan but rugby league fan first and foremost, I would like to send my regards to Chev and his famiy.



Just got back from the match and seen it on Sky. I hope to see Chev back on the field as soon as possible.



This puts the entire sport into perspective. Chev my thoughts are with you.

Horrible, horrible injury, get well soon Chev and get back to playing at the top level.



As a Rovers fan I have to say that the South Stands immediate response of "There's only one Chev Walker" is the best sporting gesture I have ever had the privileged to witness. On the Western Terrace, we couldn't see what had happened and I only heard about in the car on the way home.

The fracture itself is serious enough but if tendons and nerve damage is involved it will be a lengthy rehab process. Hope all goes well for Chev.

I really hope he gets back to fitness and plays SL rugby again would be terrible for it to force him to end his career.



I was pleased he got a good reception as he was been taken off. It was obvious from Senior's instant reaction it was a bad injury. Bit of a sickener.

Hope Chev will be ok. You could tell it was bad by the look on Keef's face.

Horrible stuff tonight. I witnessed someone braking their leg in a game at uni once, the noise was horrible, Senior clearly heard that.
