| Quote Mr. Zucchini Head="Mr. Zucchini Head"
I'm sure I aren't telling you anything you don't already know but from what I have seen its the halves that are the main problem. We were sat in the south stand on Friday so we got a good close look at your attack when you were camped on our line for long periods. Neither Myler or Lolohea seemed to have the remotest idea of how to unlock a defence. There was a moment that summed it up where Lolohea had the ball late in the tackle count about 10 metres out. He caught it, stood still, looked left, looked right, and literally just handed it to a forward next to him who was immediately tackled. It was like in a kid's game where a kid throws the ball away because they don't want to be tackled. Also the amount of passes that went on the floor or into touch was terrible.
I don't know much about this lad McClelland but I can't see how he can be any worse than what I saw on Friday. You remind me of Catalans last year. There is quality in the team, but you need someone to direct them around. Drinkwater is a very average player, but he was the right sort of player to just provide a little direction to get a tune out of Catalans star players. If you can find your own Drinkwater then you probably aren't a bad side.'"
Agree with this. Not sure if McClelland is the answer, but he surely needs to be tried soon if the incumbents continue to play poorly.

| McLelland isn't the answer at the moment and should be allowed to continue to develop under Burrow in 19s for now playing behind a dominant pack.
Put him behind Singo, Sutty, Ferres, Donaldson, Ablett and co making a combined 100m a game and never breaking a tackle and it could destroy the lad at this stage of his development.
The previous post about finding a Drinkwater type half was spot on. Drinkwater isn't good enough but we needed an organising game managing 6 which I've said all off season. I said Lolohea was never a 6 and was totally rounded on by the people who are now saying Lolohea isn't a 6 lol.
As for this nonsense about Merrin causing trouble, quite frankly, so he should if he's making 50 tackles and doing his job when others aren't. Makes me laugh that people say the team is fighting whenever we lose. Believe me the golden generation and every team had there fair share of fallouts and squabbles it just never gets mentioned when a team is winning.
People need to calm down and be patient. It will take time but we will be fine.
It's easy to spot the fans that have only ever seen success they are the ones leaving with 20 mins to go. If you can't support the team through these periods don't support them through the good times either. Been a supporter is about being there when it matters and it matters now.

| Agree Marty but McLelland could be a bench spot for first team sooner rather than later for me at least. I share your concern over bringing young lads through before the first team is ready for them - seen it before and it can ruin careers, or end up in us losing the talent to somewhere more enjoyable for them to play. It's a judgement call like everything and the coaching staff are best positioned.
Lolohea is a difficult one. I really want to like him, and he was dynamite at times in his junior career, but he looks to be struggling for confidence and form right now, and he's clearly lost the pace that he used to have. It's always a risk signing someone who sees themselves as a 6 but has never really proved it at top level. He does need to do better, because Walker is pretty much nailed on at 1 bar injury.
Spot on re. fans. Support isn't the same thing at all as glory boating. We all want to see a successful side but getting on the players' backs is never good to see and never works. I honestly don't think a player pulls on a Leeds shirt, crosses the whitewash onto to field of play in a pro RL game, and doesn't try their best. If the player is limited ability, that's partly/mostly the club's responsibility for putting them there.
I'm not saying attitude can never be improved but the fixes needed at Leeds aren't mostly focused around the guys just trying harder.

Perhaps the more relevant question would have been: how did Catalans lose 0-46 to that Salford team?
My answer would be that they played a very similar game to Leeds' recent efforts which Salford exploited without mercy.

| Salford a team of misfits, fallouts and players moving from relegation club to relegation club, yet this year, exactly like Wakefield , Huddersfield and London have shown that with a great team spirit , a good coach and back up team they can get a team playing well. Leeds v London next week will be no push over, unless we are on top of our game we could lose this game as well. What are the comments going to be on here if we lose against London. Is this a must win game, if we lose on Friday who will we be blaming, because if we do lose it shows that what we went through last year we have learned nothing and that hurts.

| Lolohea was hopefully the last of our bargain bin overseas players. He was a reserve grader last year, and got fat playing in the NSW cup. He seriously needs to slim down and try to regain some speed.
He has a good pass on him, but hasn't been the main playmaker before. It will take him time to develop into the role, but its so hard when the pack is as genuinely awful as ours.

He has skill, pass and kicking game when he's on. His bombs are immense and I like his short kicking game (not in evidence against Hull, granted).
Too early to form a real opinion on Tui to be fair. There are some positives from the pack compared to last year IMO: Oledzski has been good after a quiet first game. Peteru has been putting the effort in on the whole, probably deserving of keeping a squad place on his performances this year so far. I think Dwyer has looked keen and sharp. Merrin looks solid if not spectacular. Ward WAS in really good form before the inevitable happened again. So there are maybe 5 there who I'd retain into next year. Honestly don't think we'd miss any of the others, assuming Parcell is off (who is good when playing in a strong pack). Crosby needs to do something this year once he's back playing again, and Donaldson - 50/50 on him. Great attitude in defence, which God knows we need, but probably another squad player at best. Both players were deemed expendable by their previous clubs, and again this is what Leeds seemed to be resigned to now, mopping up other people's problems. We lack first grade starter players, not squad fillers, especially not with the academy talent coming through now who need clear pathways.

| Expecting the same squad as Hull.
Can't see McCellend getting a game anytime soon. Probably the 1st cup game I imagine.

Playing in his natural position or one he's equally good at no doubt.

Back row. But very involved in a lot of moves. Seriously he would be better than Sutcliffe in absolutely any position.
