| Quote HucknallLoiner="HucknallLoiner"We managed to cheer him on in Hucknall. He was suffering at 4:30pm. How he continued through the night is beyond me. Was great to meet other local Leicester and Rhinos fans and others. Might have to set up a local supporters club. So pleased he completed it. My thoughts with Rob and his family though. Hope this effort and govt funding will help future families.'"
I was surprised at how many people turned out in Nottingham. Being heavily involved in Nottingham Outlaws you sort of assume that you know most people who are fans in the area, but obviously not. I wish we'd have had some fliers to give out to people who may be interested in a grassroots club

There was a just giving page when it was initially announced. No reason to suggest it's not still live. I'm not very techy to provide a link though.

| Quote KaeruJim="KaeruJim"It’s more than the total raised, although of course that’s important. There is something about the momentum into the dark cold winter days, and the problems many have encountered with COVID etc - and many of us will face more challenges ahead. It may well be an incredibly tough time for many.
For me what the Sinfield events have done is remind me about mateship and compassion for others when chips are down, and I think that is his greatest gift with these runs.'"
This is a fantastic post. Having met Kevin through the amateur game and later in life through charity work, I can honestly say that I can see why people would follow him into the trenches, and why he now follows them.
A legend of the game, and I’m not a Rhino……

| Just watching the Extra Mile show on Sky and it shows how dedicated these guys are to each other. The pain and difficulty that Kev went through for his mate is heroic.
Good job he‘a a champion bloke, cos he’d never make it as an Elton John tribute act.

| Just finished this book what a great read. I am not a Rhinos fan to say the least! But Rob what a gem of a bloke he is along with his family. Such a humbling read.
The team spirit at Leeds was awesome not sure if this type of closeness could be repeated.
My old next door neighbour died of MND he lost his balance one day out of the blue and died not long after. He went downhill really fast and didn't last long. Robs highlighting of this disease and the efforts of Kev are brilliant.

| Brian McDermott comes over like a complete ****. I imagine Rob held back and he was pretty damning.

| The way Rob tells the tale even Kevin Sinfield wasn't too pleased with Mac at the back end either

| Got this book for Christmas and just finished reading it. Had a lump in my throat at times, Such a shame that so much of Robs career was stifled by the bizarre ideas and downright stubbornness of one man.

| Setting emotion aside, there must be umpteen retired players who blame their coaches over decisions made. Rob is - without doubt I'd say - the greatest impact player the game has ever seen. Would his legend be greater had McDermott gone about his job differently? We'll never know, sadly.

| Interesting take about Brian Mac.
Whilst not his greatest fan, I have every sympathy with him over this situation-perhaps not how it was handled.
It was fairly obvious in the second half of his career that making 40 tackles a game defending towards the middle was not going to work for Sinfield. Thus he needed to play in the halves and 3 into 2 simply didn’t go.
Is there any doubt Burrow is a Leeds legend who impacted many many games with his unique skill set? No
I still wouldn’t have picked him over Sinfield or McGuire in the halves at that point which meant providing impact from the bench was his role. He did it brilliantly having more of a license to jump in, run and create.
Would he have been as effective and impactful playing 7? Possibly but once Sinfield moved permanently to halfback that was never going to be at Leeds.
I for one am glad Brian Mac found a way to make it work even if not everyone was entirely happy.

| Brian Mac was a bully who purposely intimidated academy players. Let that sink in.
