The wider benefits of sport and physical activity impact greatly on health (future burden on the NHS), childhood obesity, crime agendas, as well as sporting excellence. As someone who has been involved in sport development for the last 10 years i can tell you this will at some point have an impact on you.



Future questions about childhood obesity, crime figures and lack of achievement on the sports field will be attributed to these cuts.

That's twice you've told me that and still not answered why.



I'm very sorry you're losing your job. Genuinely. It's not nice for anybody to have to go through, but at the risk of getting into a political debate, we cannot possibly stop the over spending without making cuts somewhere along the line.



Everybody in every different governmental or sub-governmental department will have a reason why theirs shouldn't be the bit to get cut. Just like every charity would be able to argue why your £2 per month should go to them over the others. Unfortunately, whilst your personal plight is impacting you daily, it really isn't having as much of an impact on everybody else as you'd think. I genuinely am sorry that you're losing your job. Hand on heart. But we can't all help everyone all of the time.

The Olympic Legacy through the partnerships is to inspire children in sport and to be active for 2012 and beyond. The value of sport has a huge impact, see recent news articles (esp Observer last Sunday) where anger and support from health ministers and even members of the coalition reflect this.

Please reseach properly this information is misguided to say the least, over the last year an extra £1 million children took part in competitive school sport.



As an example a Badminton competition was set up nationally 5 years ago with just 300 competitors, through the School Sport Partnerships this figure is now 23 000 +, and this is just 1 sport. I am 1 of 225 competition managers accross the country.

Yes it is poor and not very good and will have a impact on several areas in future eg health nhs etc....



However the fact is massive cuts are being made and at this time funding for sports fits pretty low. Police numbers are being cut, nhs jobs being lost fire crew numbers being reduced all have a big impact on the hear and now and ssp must come below these in these times.



I may be wrong but I don't remember ssp etc when I was young but we were active, as is my child
