It's either one or the other.

Sorry can someone explain something here....I've never understood it but Keith/AP/whatever - he's from Leeds (or "loserville" as I beleive he called it pre-2004) isn't he(?) and was at some point a Leeds supporter (and maybe still sort of is) but at some point in his life decided he gets more of a kick outta winding people up on the internet than in supporting any particular team so much so that he'll now give a dull min by min analysis of errors made by Leeds...how does this happen...how can life become so empty and bitter
(The same also applies to the fact that he's British but prefers to slate GB/England at every available opportunity)

I think that hes been emotionally wounded br RL at some point and its had a lasting effect. So much so that he spends most of his life sat behind his PC producing the same old dull trolling attempts month after month year after year.
I think he types one handed as well.

| Cant be d adding up a list of errors but I would guess you could do the same for Wigan and it would more or less equal the Leeds list.
Overall a good final close and tense till the end and for all that one good pass from BJB to Burrow and Leeds would have won in my book. In the end thats all that separated the 2 sides over the 80
We didnt get the crucial calls but hey thats the reality. The ref is a human being not a machine and he will make errors (just like the players) sometimes these go for you and some times against you. We have had our fair share of the 50/50 calls in the past so shouldnt moan too much when it goes the other way.
Wigan are a very good side atm well coached and very well structured. I watched the warm up drills closely and the difference was significant for me.
One was tight well organised and intense.
The other wasnt and it showed for the first 20 -30 minutes.

| Quote Keith Swiftcorn="Keith Swiftcorn"That's your agenda kicking in.
Webb wasn't as big a disappointment yesterday as McGuire, Bailey or Leuluai who were Leeds worst players, so why should I be highlighting him over and above those three? But for Webb, Leeds could have conceded a try in the first minute from the Hoffman break.'"
In a cold detached analytical way you're correct of course.....most, however, are not devoid of emotion (Is it not this that makes us human ? )
Admit it though.....you do appear to have a little agenda of your own with regards to a specific alleged stretcher loving individual.
I agree Bailey WAS poor (missing two crucial tackles and singularly intent on provoking - his only game I guess). Lleulai was worse (his brain fart charge-in was unforgiveable esp in such an advantageous position).

| Quote Keith Swiftcorn="Keith Swiftcorn"We shall have to disagree then.
Wigan's dominance and professionalism in the late 80's and early 90's had beneficial effects. It was an era when the national team actually competed with Australia on the international stage without completely embarrassing themselves. 1998 to 2004 for Great Britain was a golden era... comparatively speaking. The Wigan input was crucial. Wigan were spanking everyone... not just Leeds. I admired them back then and I'm starting to admire them again.
On the topic of Hull and Widnes? Not too fussed about Hull. Don't care. Insignificant in the grand scheme of bad memory recall. They had a short period of dominance in the league but not in the Cup (when it was more important). Never won at Wembley and didn't upset me too much apart from occasionally hammering Leeds in the Yorkshire Cup. Hull KR used to get to me more around that time.
Widnes OTOH? B@stards! Made numerous seasons a misery for me. Could quite easily dislike them again.'"
My first season was 82 and Hull were the team to beat (with HKR). You're right, they weren't dominant overall for long but they dominated Leeds for an age. I missed the away win in 85 (the only game I did miss that year - I f****d my ankle up the day of the game) so had to wait best part of 6 years before I saw Leeds beat them. There was also the "generous" reception you always got at the Boulevard.

Assuming that was the case, the only thing worth concluding from that would be that due to Wigan's ERRORS they only won by a 10 point margin.

A cold, detached and analytical post backed up by evidence of erroneous Leeds play at crucial points in the game was the necessary antidote to all the chelping, emotional nonsense posted elsewhere that Leeds were robbed.
McGuire's performance on Saturday was awful and embarrassing. He was the weakest link, closely followed by Bailey and Leuluai. Webb's performance also stank but he did prevent the concession of an early try.

That missed game being the surprise away win at the Boulevard midweek when Tony Currie scored two tries? I also missed that game due to being seated on a train which split into two at York and I was seated in the wrong half which wasn't going to Hull. There was no announcement from the guard to that effect either

Ouch!
That's the one, Wednesday night. I fell down the steps of the Zoology building at Leeds Uni that afternoon and had my lower leg put in a cast. Kevin Dick, by all accounts, did what he was best at, taking his opposite number compeltely out of the game. Considering who that was it was some achievement.
I made it to Saints on the Sunday (with the usual high hopes) to watch us get absolutely slaughtered, Meninga was a pleasure to watch - sort of.
