They weren't ineligible to play - they were registered with the RFL at the time, who had accepted that registration on the basis of their contracts with Celtic Crusaders.



They were subsequently found to have committed an immigration offence, and by extension so have the club in employing them without the correct paperwork. It doesn't make their registrations with the RFL null and void.



You might have to find some different straws to clutch at.

Dear oh dear oh dear. What a shambles. It was clear to all that they were no where near ready to join Superleague. I fear the worst for them and can't help but think the Welsh RU will be laughing at this. It's an embarrasment to Rugby League.

I was all for widnes also and very critical of the RFL'S handling of the situation when awarding the franchise's for the next 3 yrs.

How come its taken the immigration service 3 years for those who came over in 2006 to realise some of these guys are not on the correct visas.



No wonder there are thousands of people in the country without the correct visas. What does the immigration service consist of, a school leaver in a garden shed with an old typewriter?

It hasn't. The rules changed last November.
