As already mentioned, no issues with Bentleys red, thats on him, his stupidity was rightly punished and he cost his team.

What I don’t understand is how a player is meant to pull out of a tackle they are already committed to, there should be some sort of time manner involved, it was half a second between Dwyer and the hit.

Probably deserved the yellow in the current climate but should not receive a ban.

Bentley will get 4-5 games considering his previous.

Against Wigan I think our efforts Saturday plus injuries/suspensions probably means we will lose.

Exactly. Widdop was running across the line, Dwyer was chasing to tackle and when the ball was released, Dwyer was behind him and already getting ready to tackle. I'm all for stamping the late hits out the game (I got a bad whiplash from being hit after passing)....but....players have to tackle. The speed of the game means decisions are split second. There wasn't any malice in the tackle, wasn't massively mistimed. Just a bit late. When I saw the Bentley Red, I thought it harsh. But after watching it back it was a fair call. I still think the yellow was harsh for Dwyer

I think a ban following a yellow is to act as a further deterrent. It isn’t a red card but they don’t want those tackles in the game so you will get a yellow and probably a ban for the next game. If you do that consistently then behaviours will change.

Those are the rules so follow them, it’s mindless to do it now.

Given the ‘clamp down’ I reckon Dwyer will get a 1 game ban, Bentley between 4-6 games
