He started like a house on fire but his dip seemed to come when he was rested then moved to accomodate BJB. Hopefully his try on Saturday will the spring board for him to get back to his best.



Watching the game back in the pre game piece with JP, Briscoe is the fastst in the squad and has been recorded a 10.2m/s this season. (Thats 9.81 secs for the 100m)

How have you worked that out?

Come on, he has just divided 100m by 10.2.



Thing is though, he wouldn't be able to do 100m in that time. What he will have been timed on is 50m or shorter. It is the speed off the mark they look at most.



And it was that speed off the mark that got him that try on Saturday, and why not many others including Hall would not have got it.

There is no way they recorded that from a standing start. It'll be peak time for one second in the middle of a sprint. There's no point translating it to 100m times. Otherwise Briscoe would be European sprint record holder and would have won Olympic gold every year except the last two. And given Bolt wasn't wearing rugby boots he might even have a chance against him.

I@m pretty sure they interview Peacock and one of the Leeds conditioners and they said Briscoe was the fastest at the club and ran 100m in just under 11 or 12 seconds.

That would be more like it.

He looked slow off the mark to me. Evans caught him quite easily. Still a good fend and finish but speed off the mark didn't spring to mind, bearing in mind Evans will have needed to change the direction of his run.

Was a neat change of the ball and fend from Briscoe.



Evans will be disappointed he committed himself that early, as you said he comfortably caught him so should have bided his time.
