Being told we can't sign the best players because of salary cap is a joke ,not being able to compete with RU is a joke

The salary cap isn't what stops RL clubs "signing the best players".



Their inability to generate income streams outside the TV revenue is what stops more than two or three clubs signing the best players.



You could have set the SL salary cap at £10m. Sam Burgess would still have gone to Union. Chris Ashton would still have gone to Union. SBW would still have gone to Union. It wouldn't have made the blindest bit of difference.



Union has spent 120 years being a bigger sport than its offspring. Not likely to change in mine or your lifetime. Deal with it and lose the chip.

For a small fee become a member of your club get a few benefits discounts etc. ..The club gets the opportunity to expand its profile and gain some income and the same people come out with" its a rip off....haven't they had enough money off us be releasing three replica shirts this season...."

Clubs need to get money or of their fans or the fans won't have a club

Whilst totally true the idea is that you expand your fan base and therefore are not relying on a couple of thousand die hards buying every bit of toot you produce. Problem is, the fan base is so small even for the bigger SL clubs.



You also need to have strong and varied commercial support. Again, something SL struggles with.

So from the Wire board Cutherson (whoever he is) and cash for Clark? Farah coming in to replace Clark.

He'd never have made a league player, I don't even know what position you'd play him in. One of the most over-rated players I've ever seen. I'm not even sure he'd make the England RU team in the pro era.

100% it would. Getting shut of our new pack leader at the same time our old pack leader leaves sounds just like the actions of our methodical, calculated CEO.

It's just a bizarre one. You'd think cuthbertson would be happy given his form and how well his first season is going.

But to give him and cash for Clarke so they can get Farah ...where does that rumour originate from ? Or just wishlist ?
