With Bradford and St Helens locked in negotiations over the release of Leon Pryce to replace Matt Orford.



Just how much would you see St Helens letting him go for, knowing that you won't be offering him the big after next year, where we can give him the three year contract that he wants?

It'll be interesting to see how it pans out. If he goes, he goes with all my thanks, he's been superb for us. But if he does want to leave, it'll be interesting to see what they do about it. We can't rely on da kids for both halfback positions because they've proven themselves to be lacking in the toughness we would need in order to rely on them.

If Leon would rather move on to the Bulls with a year left of his contract left than play behind a pack containing the likes of Graham/Perry/LMS/Soliola/Puletu/Wilkin/Roby then he may well finish his career a couple of medals down on where he is now.



If we could guarantee Lomax's fitness I wouldn't be overly gutted about this news, but there are certainly no guarantees as far as our youngsters' fitness is concerned.

Leon wanted an extension as far as I know at St Helens but his request was turned down because you can't afford to top up his contract when his current deal runs out.



So with that in mind and us offering him a three year deal and the chance to return to his hometown club, wouldn't be in your best interests to take the money from us otheriwse you could potentially lose him on a free at the end of next season.
