Well there was a clear double movement by Westwood and an obvious forward pass that give you 12 points so knock them and we'll knock the 6 off...



I know Roby's was very, very dodgy, the ball does go backwards towards his own body however they are ALWAYS given as lost possession and even as video ref and SAints fan I wouldn't have been able to give it.



Its the first decent thing Ian Smith has done for us in ages!

If Ian Smith went to the video ref for the Westwood try then it would of been chalked off but after seeing the Roby try 3 or 4 times and it was still given was a joke.

I wasn't surprised it was given last night, what do linesman get paid for? It was more that Eddie and Stevo missed it as it was passed before the line and caught 1 metre over it.



I agree, I was shocked by Roby's try being given and especially his justification - he might (big might) have sounded better had he said the ball travels backwards but even then anywhere on the pitch its a scrum defence.



I do think Emmitt's was a bit harsh as unless he has foot thick arms that ball had to be touching the ground but its Ian Smith we've learned to expect the unexpected and for once he has been charitable to Saints - there had to be a first time!!

terrible video ref smith ruined a good clash with the celtics dont get me wrong im not saying saints wouldnt have won but what was an excellent game for 60 minutes became a sham as celtics heads went down from a shocker from video ref smith no way was roby's try legit
