Wigan set the record signing Offiah in 1992 for £440,000 then broke it in 2006 signing Fielden for £450,000 so exactly what other clubs were breaking record fees ? We spent big on Newlove and Scully in the 90s but didnt set records and in context of those fees it brought about a peroid of massive success. |

got to win it though for me to be truly envious, and given your conversion rate....
still not a bad season for us though, would have taken a CC win before the season started, it was good to go back 'home'.

How can anyone be envious of historical records? Envy is about wanting what some else has. You cant want some one else's history. Only a fool would think that way. It would be pointless and Saints fans are never pointless. Now wigan could be envious of our future as the could want our players and get them but they could not be envious of our great SL history just like we could not be envious of there pre SL history.

After wining one grand final and one challenge cup final you'd think it was the 80s all over but this time all the teams was fulltime soother great Wigan comeback lasted all of one and a half seasons
I'm really looking forward to next year seeing the ape put them back in the brink of not getting in the play offs. |
