You've forgotten then that we've beaten you twice already, once by 38 points to nil. I wouldn't get all smug just because Saints didn't turn up today.

| Quote St pete="St pete"Seemed to me that we know are pack is crap so we just decided to move it wide but we kept dropping it. Let's be honest, when you have Mose and Lms as props and wello and flash in Backrow it's not exactly good.
I think you've just seen the Mose I've seen all year. 11 hit ups in his last two games must be some sort of record. He only did 5 today all game!'"
You're bound to make mistakes if you put on shifts without going forward first. If we're struggling to clear our lines we should get to the end of our set, kick deep and do some aggressive defending. Going wide early in the set in our own 20 was only going to end in disaster.
Regarding Mose, I think he's been okay most weeks (no better than that) but he was lame today, no mistake.

| Quote SaintsFan="SaintsFan"I'm afraid I can't take the coach out of this because to me he's a fundamental part of the problem. He doesn't care so the players don't care. He doesn't prepare them appropriately - look back to his Good Friday pre match (GF was the turning point in our performances, note) - and he messes the team around all the time. Assuming he has game plans, most of them look useless.
As for the players themselves, not enough of them care for it to make a difference. Most notably, not enough of our forwards care. I agree that Thompson does appear to care and as such he stood out and has stood out previously.'"
I don't disagree with the rest of your post but the fact some are not local doesn't really make any difference in my opinion. There's been many fantastic players over the years who have worn that Saints jersey who have given 100% and they weren't local. It's about personal pride and commitment. It's up to the coach to remind them of that & to motivate them.

| Quote Tryhard="Tryhard"No I don't think I am sticking my head in the sand. All SL teams have off days even the top teams Wigan Warrington and Leeds . They all go through it , so we have had our day hopefully a day the players, coach and back room staff won't forget. Yes it's down to the players to deliver on the park which they did not today but that doesn't mean they have no motivation or desire . I believe it's there but today they were out played by the better team.'"
That is truly naive!
When have Wigan been nilled by 42 points? Or Leeds? Even Warrington managed to score two tries against us in the first game of the season! And the point I make is that this has become a pattern for us (but not for Wigan, Leeds or Wire). When expectation is on us - on Good Friday, the CC at Leeds and at Magic - we don't turn up. Our attitude stinks and nobody is fixing it.

God you've been waiting for us to lose haven't you ?'"
No not really. I could have appeared after Magic if that was so. Maybe being a Salford fan allows you to keep your feet on the ground but for you (or it might have been Saddened) to suggest you need `a new pack, 2 centres, a 6 and a new coach` etc really beggars belief.
Look you are top of the League - try & accept defeat gracefully and be realistic.

Isn't this the Salford team who's won one game in something like last 9 games? Is this the Salford that spent a fortune on 2nd rate players and in a relegation battle?
They breathed a massive relief that the bulls didn't get points back, that's for sure.

Exactly but even we know our pack is rubbish for us to use those tactics.
Come October I bet most on here will agree with me regarding mose, he's a big soft pudding.

I`m not being smug - I am criticising Saddened & St Pete for not accepting defeat graciously. We will have 4 ex Saints possibly in tomorrow - TP, Meli, Dixon & Ashurst so we'll be up for it.
On another subject - Is Manu on his way out? Back to Hull or looking for a club?

I've not posted that but IMO we need a centre, stand off, two props and two backrows to be up there winning things as we've to many players that are Salford standard and not saints standard.

At least he caught a crossfield kick. Unlike everyone else in our team.

It's the performance we are not accepting graciously; not the defeat. We are supposed to be top of the league. Technically we are (although not after Wednesday). A top of the league team should not be conceding 42 points at any time, never mind against a team where we have only been on the losing side once, when we fielded an under 19s team.
Quote Early BathOn another subject - Is Manu on his way out? Back to Hull or looking for a club?'"
I hope he IS on his way out. He's done preciously little for us except drop the ball since he started. But then he's had Brown as his coach so he probably doesn't know from one week to the next which position he's playing.
