...and how many Aussie coaches do you think are over here to fulfill lifelong dreams to manage Leeds, Warrington or whoever or have the club crest tattooed across their chest or whatever exactly? The only coaches we have working in this country are ones that are biding their time waiting for an NRL job, or ones that just aren't good enough to get an NRL job and are settling for the best thing they can find. Brown is no different to any of the rest of them.

| It's no different to any other coach or player, if they are in demand the people will want them.

Its not with Brown though. His entire spell at the giants has been full of speculation about him getting an NRL job. He has stated this publicly and a couple of times announced he was not staying, only to then go back on it because of a lack of concrete interest from the NRL. I'm not going to be happy if he has us in a mess because he's whoring himself around the NRL next year.
Its clearly what he wants and if I were McManus I'd be demanding his word that he'll see out his contract and if he won't do that I would offer him a way out of his deal now so we can find a replacement.

| Quote The Chair Maker="The Chair Maker"Brown is an improvement on what we have at present.
The big worry if Brown gets an NRL job is who would replace him.
Saints would be in real trouble for next season without a proper coach, and in the short time available we would be struggling to pick up anyone decent from Australia, that would leave us with UK coaches like Mcnamara or Brian Noble to pick from'"
You can have Tim (Mr. 20% finals appearances in 15 seasons) Sheens

From his Bradford days his assistants Elliot and noble went on to have more success than he did. His other assistants have included potter and Trent Robinson. He's known for building a legacy, of not bringing immediate success

| It's time somebody gave Darryl Powell the Fetherstone coach a try at a top club.

I agree, but will he leave Fev atm? In his SLSM interview he seems to have really clicked at that club

| Smacks of lazy journalism to me. I'd be amazed if he is under consideration for a job over there given his recent record over here.

| Another young British coach who is constantly overlooked Is Paul Broadbent,
People in the game speak highly of him especially his time with John Kear
at Wakefield.

| Quote Ninja saint="Ninja saint"What's to say that wests wouldnt be interested in brown if we did put him in charge when Simmons went?
If they want him, they will go for him if he's at saints or not.'"
Nobody can stop a coach going at any time they wish really, contracted or not.
However the fact that Nathan Brown hasn't started the Saints coaching job yet makes him more susceptible to other job offers particularly when he has always made it known that he wanted to return to Australia.
How many times are people offered a job and before they start a better offer becomes available and they ditch the first job offer. It goes on all the time and that's why if you want a person its best to get them in quick rather than wait around like Saints have done. If Brown wasn't available to come in straight away he shouldn't have been offered the Saints coaching job in my opinion and we should have looked elsewhere.
