Nobody can stop a coach going at any time they wish really, contracted or not.



However the fact that Nathan Brown hasn't started the Saints coaching job yet makes him more susceptible to other job offers particularly when he has always made it known that he wanted to return to Australia.



How many times are people offered a job and before they start a better offer becomes available and they ditch the first job offer. It goes on all the time and that's why if you want a person its best to get them in quick rather than wait around like Saints have done. If Brown wasn't available to come in straight away he shouldn't have been offered the Saints coaching job in my opinion and we should have looked elsewhere.

How do we know that Saints waited around? McManus only went for Brown, he said so himself. Therefore, it could be that it was Brown who refused to come early rather than Saints who waited.

Because McManus said so.

I think Brown's the best man for the job next season but frankly if he doesn't come over, "c'est la vie" life goes on - we just need some stability. Just as long as we get an experienced and proven first grade coach and don't appoint Mike Rush on a permanent basis.

Brown should come out and distance himself from the wests job and show saints he's committed to us.



My only concern with Brown is the constant talk of him going to the NRL.

Thats not going to happen , if they offer it to him he'll be gone.

Knowing brown's past history of links with the nrl, I'd be surprised if his contract didn't have some sort of clause heavily weighted in saints favour if he decided to leave early.

All these coaches like the same thing - big forwards and quick PTB. Yesterday's news IMO and too easily combated on the big occasion, as Bradford used to find out when they played us (back when we could win a final).

Don't you think that he should test himself at a lesser club first? You don't jump from being manager at Blackpool to Juventus. You have to prove you can handle tougher competition first and it's huge step up from the championship to the top flight these days, just ask Millward.
