Because your defence was nowhere near as bad as your attack.

Oh, I don't know... It was pretty damn shocking. I was worried when I realised that Soliola wasn't named in the team as I knew we'd miss his aggression. That was true but he wouldn't have changed much! Horrible performance. BOTH wingers having a nightmare... That doesn't come along very often and you're pretty much stuffed if it does. Took a Widnes fan to the game and even he noticed that we have a half back afraid to pass! He only half jokingly suggested that they wouldn't even take Lance Hohaia at Widnes!

| I'm not sure we managed to successfully defend and turn over a full set on our line. Either Wire scored, had a try disallowed or made an error. I could be wrong but I don't remember a set being fully played out and turned over when Wire were attacking. Very alarming that our goal line defence was so bad.

| Quote St pete="St pete"You could say the same for wolves in the first 15 mins, they got few pens and saints mistakes give them the front foot.
We depend on pens in big games as we've got no brains in the team, we will just do one up rugby all night and if that doesn't work we just carry on playing one man rugby or do the odd poor kick.
I'm not just saying this but I've not seen a worse kicking than the one we've had this year, it's been totally shocking.
What I'd give for lee briers to come back!'"
we had no pens till about the 30 minute mark.

On the 64 minute point when Riley scored to make it 22 - 6, our team 'eased' off and started to save their bodies for the Wigan game on Saturday, that was plain to see. I didn't want them to do that because I wanted more tries scored. If after the Riley try was scored TS had sent out the message 'go get them' we would have probably won by 20 points or more.

| What a dreadful performance. Forwards got battered. No imagination. Just a series of predictable one up drives that warrington coped with ease.
We have been on a good run, albeit with a bit of good fortune thrown in (widnes and catalan spring to mind), but we looked a class apart from Warrington last night.

| Quote getdownmonkeyman="getdownmonkeyman"I will let you deduce how those penalties were conceded, relative the possession stats........'"
Well at least three of those penalties were for high tackles. Either way a 5 - 1 penalty count in Saints favor shows indiscipline from Wire. Unfortunately Saints lacked the quality to do anything with extra ball and field position gained.
The amount of possession Wire had in contrast to Saints is irrelevant when it's comes to giving away penalties. Just because Wire had more possession doesn't mean they had to give away more penalties. Quite the opposite. Saints were chasing the game, struggling to make any great inroads into the Wire defense. It should have been Saints who gave away the the penalties through frustration and fatigue. Wire were in complete and utter control until roughly the 25 minute when indiscipline crept in.

Oh yes, what we wouldn't do for Josh Perry to replace Gaz Carvell, Wilkin to push ou Westwood and Paul Clough to displace Chris Hill.

Absolutely this, and a couple of the dubious calls disallowing try's would have given the scoreline a more realistic margin.
I recall Briers kicking to the corner with 15 to go lilke he was running down a
'2 minute clock'. Obviously the team or TS had decided enough was enough save some for Saturday tea time

He's right in that case though. I'm sure the vast majority of people would have Westwood over Wilkin and Hill over Clough. The only one worth a debate is Carvell and Perry, on recent form it's Perry for me.
