why? its against salford so it wont be to hard, and even if we lose this part of the season is meaningless, we should try the kids now to see how they go

Have we got Puletua, Manu, Soliola, LMS, Clough, Walmsley, Boof and Flash playing? If so, whoever's playing hooker shouldn't have that harder job.



Charnock may be young, but he's always been touted as having star quality and its not like #6 has been a strength for us. A young lad, full of beans may well go ok there. Again, if the big guys turn up, then we shouldn't be having a problem. We may find that the weather is as much of a leveller as anything else.



I'll be dissapointed if we go for Wello at #1, but I can see the logic with all the other disruptions.

Bad attitude to go into a game not being bothered whether we win or not. We should always be looking to win. And Salford have beaten Hull KR and drawn with Wakey so they have it in them to put up a fight.



Fans would not be happy if we lost to Salford at home given the overall standard they are playing to at present. You can be flippant about it because you don't see how we can lose to such a poor team. But if we do lose, you won't be happy.

I think Brown is looking further ahead. Speakman and Charnock will not be playing U19 next season so unless they chance the academy systems he'll be looking who is worth keeping. The rules for approaching players has changed, I think it's May or June now, so he is probably looking one or two years on.



There's still about six or more players around 30 in the squad so you should be o.k.

A lot of people called Wane following Wigna's defeat last year to Widnes. Hopefully the same wont happen to us against Salford.



What do you think about Charnock and Speakman as players? I assume you've seen them (cue jibes about Speakman being a livelong Wigan fan and Charnock being almost as good as his equivelent in the wigan side).



I know Charnock used to be a backrower when they signed him as a youngster. It was publicised as quite a coup when we pinched him from the Warrington area.

I haven't seen much of Charnock and only seen Speakman in about three or four games (one was for England v France at Bradford)

Charnock was a much sort after player, but I think he suffered a few injuries. Speakman didn't stand out either as being very good or poor in those games.

Has lent finished already ?

He was a full back who also played loose towards the end of games. He was always a big lad for his age and his hard hitting in defence was vital when they'd move him to loose at the end of games.



When at Warrington they tried to turn him into a backrower which also played a part in him wanting to leave there. He's also a goal kicker IIRC.
