Right, here we go:
I don't often bag referees, because I appreciate they have a tough job to do, but I'm struggling with the logic and thought processes of the ref today surrounding the Adam Walker punch.
Walker has hit his marker square in the jaw with a closed fist. How can that be anything other than a red card? Fair enough to bin Sidlow for running in and making the situation worse, but to only give Walker a yellow for that really had me scratching my head. Would it have changed the final result? Who knows, but that was an incorrect decision in my opinion.
I thought we played really well today and the boys can be proud. Throw Mullaney, Purtell and a fourth prop in there and we might have come away with the win.
However, to be winning 30-28 with 15 minutes to go and then end up losing 50-30 is not acceptable. Paul Clough should have caught that kick off. He messed up and he knew it straight away. Mantellato scores from the drop out (albeit from a forward pass).
Then Ryan Shaw let a bomb bounce which he should have caught, and Rovers score from that mistake as well.
The Larroyer try was 50/50 regarding the ball steal, no real complaints, I guess Addy should have kept a tighter grip.
The last try ended up making the scoreline a little flattering I think.
Being fair I don't think Walshaw's try should have stood either. I think Addy fumbled the ball when it was bouncing around his feet.
I feared the worst when we named Chev at centre but he actually did ok. Put a few big hits in and ran hard all game.
Final thought, Adam O' Brien is one hell of a tough little player.
