Not really good enough to concede 40+ points against Cas who had nothing to play for.



I'd give the young players such as Naughton, Wood, Mellor, Roberts a run out. We may need to call upon them next year, so best to blood them now.



Also I really hope we don't give them a week off. I hope they got flogged all week so they get the message that performances like that are not acceptable.

Did we really concede 46 points against Cas? I was there and I'm still not sure.



It's maybe a bit unfair to pick players out from the performance today but Foster had a shocker, i thought he should have scored early on but seemed to not want to push for the line for some reason, then was culpable for their first try and the last, the boy can kick...but he needs more..consistently.



If we want to challenge for the play offs then the whole team needs to stand up and improve the defensive performance. We were awful today, it's just Cas were a little less awful than us.



At least there's next season.

think you summed them up well on our forum. We can easily score 30/40 past most sides in the league but can never put teams away. Nearly cost us as Kearney should've shown a bit more application to score near the end, did everything but put the ball down.

I had a feeling that even without the other fixtures going against us we were never going to be capable of pulling off a play off push. The damage has been done earlier in the season and we've left it too late. Lets be fair, we don't deserve it either.



Todays result is up there as one the worst of the season for me (Widnes at home/Broncos in the cup being other contenders). No Luke Gale? Injury or dropped? Scruton seems to be the only prop who runs on to the ball and hits the defence with any strength. We're baldy missing Sidlow with his offloading in the tackle capability.



We killed ourselves with too many school boy errors. The first half we coughed up the ball at least 3 times in our own half. The second half saw some farcical errors (Sammut not finding touch and Kearney playing the ball to nobody). Cummins must be furious as we really showed what we were capable of in the final 10 minutes.



Extremely disappointing afternoon. Roll on next season.

Defence wins games and it's defence that's our main problem at the moment. We had our chances to win today but didn't take them whereas Cas did.



Chase seemed to run past Addy for four of the tries. If Addy is staying he really has to work on his positioning and technique as he's a weak link when someone with pace runs at him.



We seemed to have a lull in the early part of the second half which was a shame as we finished strongly. Sammut showed why he brings, it can be brilliant tries or the most basic mistake. Scruton showed up again. Hopefully next year he won't have to do it all himself.

Not a great performance today, the defensive frailties that we've struggled with for most of the year were back. Chase had too much pace and run Addy and few others ragged at times. I suspected we might see a drop in intensity though after the play offs were out of reach for anyone living on planet earth. Probably not intentional but I guess after a long season we have some tired bodies in that squad.



It was an entertaining game if not high quality and the chat with Cas fans during the game added to what is usually a decent afternoon out at Wheldon road. Castleford deserved their victory today though.

we have been making schoolboy mistakes for the past 2 seasons and our defence has been shocking for the past 4 years. my humble opinion is LSH is not the man for the job and we need a better assistant coach.

Been waiting for this one. Lets blame the assistant priceless.
