Mad Friday is split this year. Normally the last Friday before Crimbo, but with Christmas eve being next Friday a lot of people will finish today, but loads will finish next Friday too.
Can see Thursday next week being ”mad”

My mate who works at Royal Mail has just got a nice £150 Xmas bonus.
I could only dream of the NHS doing the same, in fact there looking right this minute for us all to lose 10% over the next two years to save £50 million pound.

Not every band is having a 10% reduction (well it still has to be put to a ballot - I've voted no) although then jobs become under threat.
You're band 8's and 9's and A,B,C,D,E etc are protected but then that's what I would expect for them to look after their own while frontline services are cut here, there and everywhere.

My missus is a Band 6, and she's never heard of this proposed reduction - that's why I'm puzzled! Is this something local? Mind you, her frontline department is already more than 25% below establishment and they are keeping it that way (that's why she's having to work 11+ hour days...) so maybe that is the alternative strategy? |
