Its not being touchy, just that this is a serious information thread. There are plenty of other threads for banter, including observations about comparative table positions even now...
Answer to your question - its neither of those.
"Bullbuilder" is The Bradford Rugby League Supporters Society Limited - a Supporters' Trust incorporated on 23/3/10 under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act 1965, regulated by the Financial Services Authority and guided and supervised by Supporters' Direct - the Supporters' Trusts initiative.
Best way to describe what the aspirations are is to list its "objects" - Rule 2 in a 125-rule constitution that Mission, Dilligaf and I still have nightmares about going through!
2. The Society’s objects are, either itself or through a subsidiary company or society trading for the benefit of the community and acting under its control:
i. to strengthen the bonds between the Club and the community which it serves and to pursue opportunities to represent the interests of the community in the running of the Club;
ii. to benefit present and future members of the community served by the Club by promoting encouraging and furthering the game of rugby league as a recreational facility, sporting activity and focus for community involvement;
iii. to further the development of the game of rugby league nationally and internationally and the upholding of its rules;
iv. to encourage the Club to take proper account of the interests of its supporters and of the community it serves in its decisions;
v. to encourage and promote the principle of supporter representation on the board of any company owning or controlling the Club and to pursue opportunities, and should such opportunities arise to be the vehicle, for democratic elections for supporter representation on that board;
vi. to promote, develop and respect the rights of members of the community served by the Club and people dealing with the Society as set out in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, having regard in particular to the need to provide information to members and conduct the affairs of the Society in accessible and appropriate ways;
vii. to support and assist young people, through the Club’s scholarship and academy systems, in their aspirations to become and development into professional rugby league players.
Most of that is fairly standard for all the other Supporters' Trusts (Warrington's is the role model for us) across Rugby League. The last object we added in specifically, since that will be the primary focus of Bullbuilder, at least for the present, and that is how all funds raised will be applied.
Bullbuilder is totally separate to the club, and the Society Board - representing the will of the members - not the club, will determine where funds will be applied.
Hopefully Bullbuilder's members can make a real difference to the club's recruiting, retaining and developing our players of the future. And have fun in doing it!
