Why? Rugby league is a short career and the offer of a full time job outside of rugby will see many part time players earning a lot more money than full time players especially at this level. Strangely an offer of a full time SL deal with no guarantee and at a team expected to finish in the bottom 4 also had little appeal. |

He's already got a full-time job playing RL. He's happy doing it, and, if his circumstances were to change, part-time jobs will still be available for the foreseeable future. It's illogical that a player, still approaching his peak, would step backwards from, however it is dressed up, a decently paid job with a great lifestyle attached - especially when any alternatives remain ready and waiting for some indeterminate time in the future. |
