I think Jimmy is still building up Lauaki's match fitness for the Middle 8s and is just easing him in, although you'd think he'd be match fit by now. As for Davies, perhaps Jimmy wants him to get more game time down at Oxford under his belt. I'm not too worried about the props to be honest though because Clough and Sidlow do big minutes anyway - the other two props just come on for short spells.



I am surprised that Blythe isn't playing but Henry did have a good game against Sheffield.

I'd imagine that Ferguson has picked up a knock in training. Unlike last year were we had no choice but play players who were carrying injuries, we now have the luxury of being able to rest any player who's not 100%

I'm a bit lost with Samir not getting game time too. Certainly, with ball in hand, he's been one of the big improvers to me - maybe he could hit harder in defence, given his size. I can only really think it may be defensive issues that Jimmy isn't keen on.



Lauaki is a strange one. Is it just me or does he seem to do more damage when he is missed out in the attack? It's as if defenders are girding their loins for a Luaki drive and then obligingly go into holes when he doesn't get the ball - maybe he's our 'nuclear deterrent', as in, hardly ever used but worries the opposition so much they don't prepare for the 'conventional forces'?



With the props in general, I think Steve Crossley's arrival seems significant, in so much as we actually had plenty of props before he came [with some not even having had a game and I'm sure it wasn't just Jimmy feeling it would be nice to have him back so, to cut to the chase, Jimmy was, presumably, unsatisfied with what he had at his disposal. That said, I'm not sure if [ithat[/i doesn't lead to more questions than answers.
