Let's look at those RL stereotype boxes :
Fat (stuffs face while sitting on couch) : tick
Unattractive (hairy back - sorry, people with hairy backs...) : tick
Unglamourous (box of bricks, cheap car, Anywhereville) : tick
If I watch that as an RL fan, I might raise a wry smile.
If I watch that as a sports fan with no attachment to RL, it puts me off because it seems as exciting as a housebrick, and I don't want to identify with the hairy fat guy, [ieven if I am a hairy fat guy[/i.
Terrible.

Its a shocking advert and I would be ashamed to hand something as bad as that if I was doing media at Uni!! They would have been much better off putting together a montage of last seasons SL and England Internationals!
Ryan Halls 1st try v Australia
Rob Burrow try v Saints in GF
A few Sam Tomkins clips etc etc
A clip of Leeds getting thrashed at Home to Hudds then a clip of Sinny lifting the trophy to show the unpredictability of SL.
A load of big hits
