| It's a very good result from Salford, particularly the manner in which they did it, but it's easy to get carried away. They were playing a team who are very poor away from home.

Not words that many Wakey fans ever expected to see!
Sounds like it was a great game though - would have made better Sky viewing than The Whino's capitulation to Wigan.
Chuffed for Salford - hope they can hang on to some of their key players and kick on next season.

Whilst I agree that they aren't as good away as they are at home (But not many are) to be fair they have won as many away this season as Saints, Leeds, Wire and more than Hull FC of those teams around them.

That's a fair point and when I say they've been very poor I mean very poor for a team who were widely tipped to be potential grand final winners this year.
I just meant that in quite a few away games they've been very disappointing. They've looked vulnerable away from home, particularly against Widnes and at times against London in Manchester and it wasn't much of a surprise for me that Salford managed to get the win.
Consistency still seems to be the issue with Salford though, and a small pack of forwards that perhaps isn't quite powerful enough to compliment the fantastic attacking rugby produced by the backs.
Pleased that they won though. The 'Barton Globetrotters' are definitely my second team.

| Would be good for the game for Salford to reach the playoffs and increase their crowds. A 5,800 crowd last night (with no away fans) isn't fantastic, but it definately seems to be a step in the right direction.

It was probably about 3.5k. Every game this season Salford have announced two different attendance figures this 5.8k will probably be scaled down later on in the week.

| Yeah I'm pretty sure there wasn't that many there last night, and as mentioned, it'll probably end up being scaled down - probably to a weirdly exact figure, like exactly 4000.
Quote Dougy="Dougy"I can see Salford being the next Wire and Hudds in coming from lower to mid table and challenging the elite in 3 or 4 years. Depends on finances tough'"
As much as I'd love us to become the next Wire or Huddersfield, I can't see it happening any time soon - solely down to the finances. A lot of people seemed to presume that moving to our new stadium would instantly see a big increase in crowds, and climbing up the table similar to Warrington, but its definitely the finances which seperate us. As it stands, we're not going to significantly improve on the pitch without an increase in crowds, yet crowds won't increase much without improvement on the pitch - catch 22. Who knows though!
Don't want to put too much of a downer on last night, absolutely great result . Hopefully we can squeeze into that last playoff spot. Nice to see other fans talking about us in a positive light too - and a couple of Warrington fans come in our stand last night

| I have seen some fantastic tries scored by Broughton on the highlights shows. How good or bad is his defence because he looks international class with the ball in hand and England could use as many options as possible.

That's his Achilles heal sadly, his defence is ok but that's the one area he needs to work on (although playing for us you can get exposed a little at times) but with ball in hand he's a big strong runner and once he's gone, he's gone.

I'm in agreement with KOTS here.
He seems to rely on his athleticism rather than being a natural rugby player. That said, Williams on the other wing appears more of natural rugby player and reads the game much better, but even he gets exposed. I think it's down to guys inside them getting sucked in.
