He's right. Leeds weren't happy with Bailey's behaviour. You could see Sinfield and Lowes (?) have a proper go at him. He was a spoon in the semi final as well. It was just so out of context, there had been no bad blood or reaction from Saints to the loss, yet he still feels the need to goad teenage players and celebrate at players. Just completely lacking in class. A complete contrast to the likes of Sinfield and Peacock.

Wilkin's moan would have been better before the game as it would have spiced things up a bit on the night. Now he just looks like a whinging, bad-losing, ex-Rovers, sour-graped, cry baby.

I just wish he had kept this to himself.

Wow, folk having their own little whinge about Wilkin here. So, do we know how this story was found? Did Wilkin burst into the press conference suite, still in his kit, all guns blazing, shouting his angry vitriol at anyone who looked vaguely like or journo? Or, was someone having a quiet chat with him, when he was clearly still upset, over a pint in the player's lounge after the match and that person was either a journo fishing for dirt or someone willing to pass the info onto a journo?

It's because it's Wilkin's 3rd post-grand final whinge to the media.

In 2008 we had him complaining about Leeds "whooping" as they go into tackles and I believe he said something along the lines of the Leeds pack being cowardly. And of course a moan about cameras in the dressing rooms, despite the fact they had been in the dressing rooms for years without complaint from Wilkin.

In 2009 it was about the pitch being watered and that Leeds can only win when it rains.

And now this. If it had come from virtually anyone else in the Saints camp I'd believe it and have sympathy with it. As it's Wilkin it just comes across as yet another whinge after a grand final loss to Leeds.

Interesting how they'll get along together in the England squad.



What if Bailey needs to hide behind Wilkin after running away from the consequences of another of his cowardly cheap shots?

As passionate an English RL fan as I am, if Wilkin and Bailey were involved in a bit of biff against the old enemy, I’m not sure who I would be rooting for!
