As for the NRL, he isn't worth half as much as he thinks he is. He has played 8 good games all year and when it mattered against the Storm, he was no where to be seen.

I'm getting fed up with NRL players using anything and everything as a 'bargaining chip' near contract time - I'm talking to Union in Europe/ Union in Japan/SL/AFL. It sends a poor message about the sport IMO, that basically every single player will move for a bit of extra cash, and stuff the fans. It must be especially galling for those players who do show loyalty if after mouthing off a player gets 'rewarded' with a bigger contract to stay.

As per usual when a NRL player mentions going to SL certain posters start saying the usual,hes not that good,only had a few good games.etc.Watmough was in the Dally M team of the year,and polled in 5th place,overall,prety good id say,and his performance in game 3 of origin was one of the best for years.Just seems a bit of a d1ckhead off the field!

At the begging of THIS season he was struggling to keep a place in Manlys 17!

dont buy into this theory of earning 'megabucks' in the ESL any more. the exchange rate at best over last few months has been around the $2 to £1.



So, if say Leeds offered £150k to someone like Watmough, its only worth $300k a year. surely a player of his calibre must be on that already or if he stays in the NRL?



it can not be as attractive financially to move to England any more surely? maybe this is thereason why my team Wigan have yet to recruit from Aus because of the extortiante dollars they player wants with no thought of how much a dollar is worth to the pound
