He'll be a top contender for man of lard, with Solomona and Feka fighting with him for it.

Don't be daft, Eastwood would win this contest easily, especially now Feka has lost too much weight to be considered.
Having proven he's better than Westwood and Paul Wood last week, I think we can safely say he wins the award for best wood in SL as well.

| Holdsworth is having a tremendous season.
But it's still Leon Pryce. Best in SL by a distance as wide as the English channel.

Exactly my point. Makes a farce of the whole thing. It's ridiculous, it's now the 'SL popularity contest'.
James Roby was the last true Man of Steel, the award given to the player who has impacted most on the season.
It's been devalued immensly now.

The award was changed exactly for that reason. All the players have said that the award that means most is the Player's Player award. Roby only won it that year because the Journos didn't want to award to an Aussie who'd come over for his first year and torn SL apart. There's nobody on here with a sensible head who can say Roby was a better player that Barrett that year. It's not a popularity contest it's recognition from your peers that you have been the best player of any given season.

Sorry but thats utter tripe. If they didn't want to give it to an Aussie in his first year, then why did Lyon win it in his first year? Lyon did rip SL apart, Barrett was very good but he never ripped SL apart like you say.
Im not saying Roby was the better player but he had the bigger impact on the SL season. Barrett was great for a team that finished 6th, well below expectations wheras Roby had a big influence on the team that finished top.

All the players? You mean Barrett said that because he lost out to Roby
As for the bit about an aussie tearing SL apart, Barrett did nothing of the sort. Jamie Lyon did and hence why he won the man of steel.
