| Quote TrinityIHC="TrinityIHC"True, but some people have to do a lot more exercise to burn off the same amount as someone with a higher metabolism.'"
Having a higher metabolism isn't all that great though. It's hard as f*ck to gain muscle mass for example.
Mckenzie alluded to thyroid disfunction causing obesity. This is quite rare but is easily cleared up with hormonal treatment.
It's absolutly no excuse for being fat. You can get treatment, then consume the right amount of calories, exercise and lose weight.
Simple fact is that unless you're one of the rare people with thyroid disfunction, that you never get treated, you won't get fat without consuming more calories than you burn off, over a long period of time.

| Quote Barry_McKenzie="Barry_McKenzie"A lot of people have a condition with the thyroid gland that causes them to put weight on whether they eat heaps of calories or not.
Don't ask me what the condition is, Barry McKenzie is no doctor.
Although my latest pommie fb likes to call me 'Dr Lurrrrve' in the swag

lol. It doesn't cause you to put on weight no matter what. But it does slow the metabolism and effect energy levels. Combine that with a bad diet and someone will pack on bad weight, yeah.

Oh of course it's better to be in the middle ground, I was just highlighting that there are some people who could run a deep fried donner kebab off in a few miles, and some others that would have to run many miles more to achieve the same effect.

So did Gary Mabbutt. And Steve Redgrave. A positive attitude helped them overcome/manage it to where they could be at the top of their game.

So I assume Keiron Cunningham was also a diabetic in that case?
Or was he just naturally fat?

Diabetes does not affect his weight....what he puts in his mouth does!! The diabetes may well make it harder to shift, but it is not the cause.
