I'd just like to hear Gould come up with a positive suggestion for SL to improve - well actually more than one. reducing imports is something anyone can say. Fine. But how do we improve the quality of athletes/ junior development and coaching etc etc in order to become more competitive?



These are questions that anyone who loves the game should seek to answer in a positive way rather than just cr*p on everything. That is both dull and childish - LF and associated anoraks take note.





And even people like Gould would miss SL and international league if SL ceased to exist.

I can't warm to Gould because of his attitude to English R/L. If he was a true supporter of the game he would want to see it improve worldwide but to some throwback aussies the "English" are still the enemy with a capital E.



We all saw the Australian reaction to the last olympic games - could you imagine the screams if we beat them at RL





We all know how unlikely that is. Until we get a dynamic method of attracting and coaching kids to have a full skill set and understanding of the game, and then retaining them, we are lost.



There is some excellent work being done with kids in this country but no where near enough.

The difference being, i rarely post about the NRL - it doesn't take up much of my thought process. Super League on the other hand occupies you and your silly website 24/7.

Ive probably only posted about ten articles all year in regards to SL.

I can vaguely recall the days when the poms could play footy. They even taught us how to play. But that was around 40 years ago! Since then it's been humiliation after humiliation for them in series after series against the Kangaroos. Only the NRL-based Kiwis are capable of sporadically competing against us at international level. The standard of footy in your Super League lies somewhere between our local Park Footy comps and kids playing Oztag.
