He never played for Cas at any level.
Amature clubs in the UK are not affiliated to senior clubs, there is no such thing as a "Junior" club. Some clubs have an historical connection that is all. Stanley Rangers from Wakeefield have produced as many players for Cas as Wakey.
He grew up in Selby.
Castleford is a suburb of Wakey.
Richard Owen born 25 November 1991 in Pontefract, Yorkshire, England is a rugby league player for the Castleford Tigers in the European Super League, he also played for Oulton Raiders in his youth. So who created this lad, Leeds, Wakefield or Cas?
How clueless are you, get your facts straight at least try to troll well.

Incorrect. He's a Marist College North Shore boy. And despite hm playing for one season in the Balmain Leagues his junior club is Asquiths (like Kieron and Liam Foran). A North Sydney District Club. He played for Norths in the juniors too before the Roosters offered him a spot.
Point is, he did play at all these clubs, so who can say they developed him?

im so disappointed he left the working class to go to such a snobby school.
junior should know better.
my answer to your question is all the clubs contributed, but clearly norths contributed the most there didnt they.

cas junior club > wakey juniors > ??? > leeds rhinos > wests tigers.
had he not played for leeds or a big SL club would the tigers have bothered?
indeed how much can the wests tigers lay credit to for improving him?
or are we going to say adrian morley is such a good player from salford?

Can you not get this through your thick skull.
There is no such thing as "Wakey juniors" or such a thing as a "Cas junior club". These are things that exist in Australia not here. There are service areas which are Development Groups - defined by local authority or sports partnership boundaries depending on their geographical location. Cas falls within the same service area as Wakey.
Hence a 6 year old playing for Cas Panthers has no obligation other than personal choice to play for Cas rather than Wakey or Fev should he make the grade. There is no pathway that automatically leads to Cas or Wakefield at Lock Lane.
Get a grip man.

the fact that it has cas in the name sort of gives it away
by your logic if there were a junior club in wigan not tied to the warriors and st helens signed him, it would count the same way as above.
a junior club with cas in the name are in castleford. sorry

| You freaking thick plonker..you're seriously doing your best here. He started his serious rugby league education (not playing u8s on a park) under the wakefield service area before being picked up young as a WAKEFIELD WILDCATS academy product.
As for the comment above he chose to go to leeds after warrington offered serious money. He was always going to make it to the top.

As I said he was never offered anything by Cas - there is difference between poaching and picking up disgarded players - so following Dally's logic because he played for Lock Lane and Cas didn't want him then he should not have been picked up by anyone? man is a joke but anyone who reads his stuff on the NRL board knows his knowledge of the NRL is non-existent so why anyone takes anything he has to say about the SL seriously defies belief IMO.
Man is a tool - something he confirms with every post.

I really shouldn't bite but your stupidity is reaching ever greater heights.
Lock Lane ARLFC are in Wakefield and Wakefield Service areas as are Castleford Panthers, Eastmoor, Stanley, Fetherstone Lions and Crigglestone. Castleford Tigers have no first dibs on lock lane players anymore than Wakey have with Stanley players - it doesn't work like that you thick idiot.
Both Hull clubs and Wigan Leigh share the same post code and the same service area and sign from the same clubs whilst Bradford and Hudds fight it out quite often for local players.
Why do you find this so hard to understand.
As for your Wigan comment, no amature clubs in Wigan are "tied" to Wigan, that is the fecking point, hence Saints will indeed sign Wigan based players if they see fit.
Try to listen and understand.
