Kay was fantastic for Leigh this season. Says a lot that in a team that ran away with the league and then smashed all comers in the playoffs Kay was awarded coaches player of the year and players player of the year. He certainly had a lot of competition too!



I think he is definitely SL quality and hopefully he will get a chance to prove it with Leigh soon!

Maybe - however 3 SL clubs, Wakefield/Leeds/Bradford felt otherwise - you may be right but I suspect the above says you aren't



That said I was sad to see him leave because IMHO no club gets more out of these fringe players than Wakey so to us he would possibly have been some use. It was more the comment about it being one of our biggest mistakes ever which was just laughable.

So when you sing "come on you 'ull" your just cheering on the city of culture not your club? How strange!

Hull FC have always been and always will be known as Hull (so when the red and white side of the city sing we all hate hull there are referring to use (hull fc))



Hull Kingston rovers are know as rovers as in there name or Robbins because of the red breasted shirts.



Hull City AFC are know as City.



The city of Kingston upon Hull is the city of culture and that is what rovers are promoting with there away shirt.



The city name is actually Kingston



Hull is the name of the river dividing east for west.



I hope that clears things up for you.

Begs the question, why isn't it Kingston FC, Kingston Hull Rovers and Kingston City AFC? Not to mention us away fans arriving at Kingston Paragon Interchange?

No idea I'm not originally from hull or the area and I have always wondered why the city uses the name of the river not the city but a lot of things in Hull are backwards so the name might as well be!

I was told once by a girl from Beverley that the name Kingston was imposed upon the town by some king or other after an uprising and the locals objected so the name never stuck.



I've no idea how true that is.

Named Kingstown upon Hull by King Edward I.

I thought it was somthing to do with king William hence the King Billy but I really am not up on my history.

I still don't quite get how for the last few years Leeds have been able to have a blue home kit with a blue away kit.

I remember doing the history of Hull at school in my History GCSE's. Edward I acquired Hull in the late 13th century because he wanted a Northern base to help him in fighting the Scots, that's when it got its name.



King Billy is a nickname of William III (or William of Orange). He came about 400 years later. Tbh I don't know what relevance he has to Hull, I don't think there is any in particular. Maybe someone better educated on the subject than me can help out there.

Blue might have been on the shirts but not he prominent colour.



2014 - prominently White with blue

2013 - prominently pink with blue.

2012 - pink and blue hoops.

2011 - pink and blue hoops.

2010 - yellow with blue and white thin stripes.

2009 - White with blue hoop / yellow thin stripes.

2008 - yellow with blue chevron.



You get my drift..
