I missed it too but did catch the highlights and it looked a great event once more. I'd love for a season opening like it in the UK, perhaps Cardiff (with the roof) or the South of France/Barcelona.

I watched it, I thought I would have found it more entertaining; 7's is stupid, even my union supporting step-father calls 7's stupid. Nines is a bit better; I would have enjoyed it more if there were more stars there, the whole point of 7's and 9's IMO is to see the stars out there with more space and having the ball more often and seeing what they can do. I'm sure B Slater showed off the Melbourne top for the 9's, so I assumed he was gonna turn up, did he 'eck!
So IMO if more of the stars don't show up then they shouldn't bother with the 9's. Granted 9's is better than 7's but not by much more. IMO just stick to 13's.
It was quite a disappointment to me, the Nines.
