More importantly there is now a "clean" centre spot on the halfway. The previous one having been "soiled" over the years by players and even the odd RLFans poster.

That's why the Western Terrace has never been redeveloped. The toxicity levels are too high for construction workers. Even Caddick.

Latest from fev released earlier this week
www.featherstonerovers.net/article.php?id=26666
Featherstone Rovers are pleased to report good progress being made on the stadium re-development that is taking place at the Railway Terrace of the Big Fellas Stadium, Post Office Road.
As widely reported, the club transported two seated stands from the old McCain Stadium, home of Scarborough FC last autumn and the main phase of construction is rapidly approaching.
Over 75% of the re-conditioning of the steel work has been completed including paint work with steel columns currently being modified before the erection phase commences. It is anticipated that the old terracing at the Railway End will be demolished over the coming weekend with the concrete being crushed.
Following this, the training pitch behind the current terracing will be levelled which will then allow for the construction of the foundations to commence.
Featherstone Rovers Chief Executive Craig Poskitt said “Things are progressing well with the stadium re-development. This is a unique project and very complex so we try to avoid publically giving timescales on each phase as there are many factors that can affect progress. I’d like to put on my on-going thanks and gratitude to the dedicated volunteers who are making this ambitious project to come to fruition.
Everybody is mucking in, we even had former player and Challenge Cup player Ken Greatorex drop four large jars of coffee off for the workers on Tuesday which is a fantastic gesture.”
As revealed last month, the redevelopment of the Big Fellas Stadium will also now include an extension of the corporate facilities. This will see capacity of the hospitality lounge to significantly increase as well private boxes.
Featherstone Rovers Commercial Manager Paul Taylor said “Our hospitality facilities on a match day are very good but there is always room for improvement. Last season, particularly for the Challenge Cup fixtures against Castleford Tigers and Wigan Warriors and the more popular Championship games we were struggling for space.
The extension of quality hospitality areas will enable us to increase revenue streams further to enable us to grow even more. The hospitality areas will also be available for hire on a non-match day for conferences and seminars for example which is something we are trying to promote as we grow as a business.”
