Looks like the ground management committee will be putting out the stewarding contract to tender for Barton, which means that it is quite possible that the Willows Stewards employed by SCR will not be employed at the new stadium.

Oh lovely. I can see this going a similar way as to when Lancs had to do the same thing...

Thank god, stewards didn't exactly put the fear of god into anyone at the willows, you could do virtually anything you wanted which was good and bad in many ways, you play them with a dead bat then no problems imo

You mean the hard as nails stewards who at the last game at the Willows watched no end of bloke run onto the pitch after the game and then wait until a woman tried to get on to muller her.

From what I have been told (see above post) many have applied for the position.



There seems to be two schools of stewarding: one (as I am told is used at City) is where the steward works with the fans by greeting, assisting and more cooperative models of stewarding; the other is as security where they monitor and more directly control the fans. The question is, which one will we get?
