If it is Trinity that goes, surely it's at Widnes's expense as they are taking the 14th spot.



and Widnes are in , due in no small part to awarding Crusaders a position over them 3 years ago.



We are in no way perfect but considering the absolute mess that has been made of the season on field we should emerge a better organisation by the end of it.



Hopefully Wilkinson has chosen right and Parish can finally develop any emerging talent & give us a better organised & performing team , because ultimately it has to be a successful team to make the new stadium work. if we continue to mope about at the foot of the table for another 3 years no fancy promises or geographical position will help us next time.

I think with the stadium you will get a franchise this year , but echo the thoughts of others that the next 3 years will be very important for you as a club . If you can improve your attendances and league position over the next 3 years then you will be in a very strong position when the next round of franchises are awarded , and righly so imo , Salford is a heartland RL team with a very proud history . Expansion clubs get their licence for being an expansion club.



I'm not sure clubs like Leigh will get a chance with Wigan being there.

Unfortunately, Leigh are without a backer and therefore without significant finance at the moment. However, with their facilities and their fan base they are certainly capable of pressuring other SL teams for a place in three years time if the financial aspects can be remedied.



I know I'd rather be visiting Leigh, than Wales or London, but the RL and SKY TV have made it clear that expansion is all important. So yeah, it's going to be tough for them.

I would put a couple of quid on there being a franchise next time in either Scotland or Dublin, you'd think that a SL team in Dublin would be hugely popular with the locals and have as many visitors as Catalans do now.

According to this report from the Yorky Post they are going to allow expulsion on a year by year basis to any 2012-2014 franchise team who go into admin or fail to progress sufficiently. ( otherwise to be know as the ' crusaders Clause' )



I susupect this is a caviat to the demoted SL club/s and Fev or Halifax to keep them interested.



2012 Franchises are being measured against A Grade criteria:-

5000 season ticket holders,= Salford X

Turnover of £4m = Salford X

Insolvency event between 2008 and 2010. = Salford No.

Halifax didn't get a grading at all. so we're refused a licence.



Crusaders did not apply for a new licence! And are in discussion to go to the championship.

Poor Keith Senior ! NO SL for him next year then.
