If your going to try and get people to cycle to the stadium you'll need a change in tack than that shown by the powers that be at Salford council towards security.



As I said the other day on a different thread I had my bike knicked from outside Fit City Eccles and the lack of interest and some of the comments from council staff about it led me to think they couldn't care less about security (comments like your stupid bringing an expensive bike to Eccles and telling me that putting a sign up to warn customers that bike theives are opperating would only advertise the fact there is a problem).



You'd need to get the gate at the rear of the stadium open to allow customers to get down the canal and offer a very secure location to store the bikes.

Good points. Security is something that would have to be considered. A cycle lock up bay, much like those I see at uni and at various train stations would be fantastic. Even better if there is 24 hour CCTV coverage of the area. I presume there was CCTV in operation at the new stadium?

As anybody thought about parking around the Peel Green Rd area, or maybe the streets near to Eccles rugby league club, and then walking the short distance to the stadium.

The other thing that I think will need addressing is pedestrian crossing/access from inside the M60. Cars fly round the Peel Green Roundabout - if there are hundreds of people crossing it on foot, many who've had a few to drink, it's an accident waiting to happen.

It's a concern of mine i must admit....

Ah well it prove's again how logical the Salford bosses think out these wonderful idea's for us supporters. You can imagine the discussion by Montgomery Wilkinson scratching his head to Mr T, Hmmm how can i get more money out of these lot, with them still thinking i'm the messiah.

I know that we are in between Christmas and New Year but can you please translate in basic English just what you point is?

Can I request that the club employee a full time ball scratcher so when my balls get itchy during a game I don’t have to put my pint down?

go to irlam social club or tiger moth ,cadishead cars are putting on mini buses,for couple of quid return,you can have cheap pint and plenty of free parking
