Shame on you for not buying Issue 1 in August 1998 when we explained it





As others have explained in some detail, it was an old club nickname. Me and a mate saw it in Darrell Platt's excellent History of Salford Rugby League Club book and thought it could be a fanzine name one day.

I actually have no idea what anyone else on this forum looks like, so I couldn't tell you who the Scarlet Turkey crew are either. It's all a bit bizarre this thread.



PS, am I in the crew now? When is my initiation ceremony?

On the pitch before tonight's game, look out for this fella:

I'm reletively new to being a Reds fan (1st game was a relegation tussle that we lost to KR prior to becoming a ST holder the following season, travelling to places like Batley, NR cup final at Bloomfield and the extra time GF victory against Crusaders at HJ) due to being a foreigner until 2007...



Like yourself, I only know one person on here personally (well that I'm aware off) and that's the extremely boring and drab Middleman whom I would class as my closest friend...God, occasional posts on here and personally knowing him, does that make me boring too???



Native Salfordians are a funny bunch but you do make me feel at home

Maybe this brilliant idea by the Doc will help bring the different factions together.



The main thing to remember is that the common denominator is we are all Salford fans.

Perhaps this is a good excuse for everyone to upload a picture of themselves.... I reckon I've probably spoke with most people on ST at the matches without even knowing it

cant understand everyone's gripe here. People in life don't get on - so what. If people want to act like they own the place then is no skin off my nose - couldn't give a sh*t. So long as people renew their season ticket or keep paying on the gate and support the lads then so what. I work with some right t1ts but that doesn't have to mean I like them all, maybe folk should turn the sensitive button down a notch or two.

I'm fairly sure you've met me, even if only briefly, at Forever Reds meeting(s) - that's assuming you are who I think you are (produced the retro bags with Martin?) - if not, then as you were.

Actually, as reading these comments on Turkey/Twitter I was reminded of Groucho being told that he could not use a swimming pool as it was off-limits to Jews. He replied "My son is half-Jewish; can he wade in up to his knees?"

I cannot work out to whom I belong so can I be in both camps?
