Last week we had Loughborough uni on. They looked pretty damn solid. I'm hoping they chase down Leeds Met as although I got accepted at both uni's, I was scheduled to study at Loughborough this year but for a late change of circumstances. Cracking uni that although full of union lads (As well as every other sport known to man) is very open to league in a non-y-old boys-elitest kinda way. For me, developing greater links with Loughborough, with all the facilities they have at their disposal would be a great move for the RFL.'"

any NWC div 3 lads (Irlam, Langworthy) might recognise a few UCLan lads from Leyland's team. They have the same coach...he gets the best every year to supplement what he has at Leyland. |

I would imagine it's because they're not good enough but I hope I'm wrong. Can't imagine the uni of Gloucestershire managed to get promoted to this comp ahead of many local uni's, suchas Salford, Manchester or MMU (Cheshire).
Anyone able to shed any light on this? |

my limited understanding is that its the best 8 based on previous years but...I think it was a North / South split to the league. Very surprised not to see UWIC in the mix. In the cup comp, the pools have seen salford in with the super 8s suggesting that they are quite strong.
FWIW, Salford College are NW Champs in the college comp.

Yeah, so I heard. Elated but surprised to hear this as Hopwood Hall (where I studied on my Access to HE course) last year were streets ahead of Salford. All the same, great news! |
