Chris hill to Leigh 2021

Certain media sources are saying hill to Leigh for 2021 apparently should be sorted in the next couple of weeks , what’s everybody thoughts on this

Which media sources ?

I don't think he is the player he was, but he is still our best prop and we can't afford to lose him.



I wonder if this is like all that talk of "Widnes whispering in Richie Myler's ear" which never came to anything.

Mike Cooper is our best prop but why wold we let Hill go when we are short on props anyway? Would be lunacy,

My first thoughts are that you are just trying to be annoying. The clue is in the words "Certain Media Sources". It's a bit like ... "some dip-sticks are saying". Mind you there's not much to talk about.

Rumour mill starts re Hill's future.

Not at all it’s also just appeared on Facebook and I put it up just see if anyone else had heard anything, we all know what happens with Micky higham when Leigh came sniffing last time

Is it true ?



His contract ends this year so he might be asking for 'too much' whatever that might be in todays climate. He is a Leigh lad and perhaps he has been offered a big wad to move back home. So yes, I would say it's plausible.



Do we need him ?



He has faded but is still a very good prop and it would not be good management to release him when we have only recruited two hopefuls that may or may not become first choice props.

Hope not.

If we had a prop of 'equal standing' ready to come in to replace him, I'd be ok with it, although be a shame to see him go - he's been a great player for us. But could probably get more money and a longer deal with Leigh.



However given most clubs are on the lookout for props, I'd be surprised if there was another option readily available, unless we have transfer funds available - which given the climate again would be unlikely.

In his testimonial year...can’t really see it. Maybe next year.
