| So where does he go from here?
he has a real battle on his hands getting back in this team... i dont think smith will break up Bridge and Ratchford now and rightly so...
he really has to make an impact when he returns or its probably curtains for him at warrington i think.
If he doesnt, i would be surprised if the club gives him another contract, which is up next season.
despite what some people think, this side would benefit greatly from an organsing HB with a kicking game.... unlike others, he doesnt appear to have much versatility either
There is a real possibility he will find himself at a club like Hull soon... or maybe back at widnes.

| Was a great support player along side Briers, and that's the crux of the problem we do not have a Briers type player for him to play along side of.

| I wouldn't rule him out just yet.....he had a great game against Leeds before picking up his latest injury and smith seems happy to experiment with three half backs in games at the moment......ISWT

| Well, someone called me a very naughty name after Myler's second coming against Leeds, purely for my audacity in pointing out that he hadn't done it consistently for some time. Compare and contrast with Bridge, who despite assorted ss and guffaws at the suggestion, has been consistent, confident, assured, reliable and very skillful in the role vacated by Richie.
Perhaps more crucially, the move of Bridge to the halves has unleashed Ratchford's form to devastating effect, and you could also say has had the same benefit for Joel & Ormbsy as well.
Does Myler have a future in the squad? Probably, but he may have to accept a reduced role and contract or move on.

| The very fact that Myler has been injured will keep him at the club. TS seems happy to have four half-back options, even having three of them in the side at the same time when Ratch played 13. If Myler doesn't get to play every week I don't think he'll find that too upsetting.

| He was doing well tbh before his injury but have to agree with some posters he is too inconsistent and injury prone for me.

I agree he has a battle but that's because a) we are winning every week and b) Bridge and Ratchford are both fit. Those scenarios might not last forever.
I think Myler is a good and effective player who can hurt teams with his support play so don't bash him like some on here but he is not a player like Briers. In terms of keeping him with a new contract the issue will be is he one of the big earners as he has a big reputation: if he is we might be able to get someone else who offers more.
Remember there is also GO'B to come in to the side.

Exactly. None of us can ever predict what Tony Smith will do. The one guarantee is that someone in the backs will get injured, Smith will re-shuffle in some way, shape or form and Myler will be back in the side. Then it's up to him to retain his place and someone else will have a problem.

Smith must be loving this as we have competition all over the park near enough with the youngsters that have come through this year.

| In the last three weeks without R&B we have been stuttering a little.
We have played poorer teams and we have not completed and been as convincing in attack and lost a little of that steel. That shows in our defence as we've allowed scores against us yet the teams have been poorer.
It makes the case for the saying, the best defence is attack. The more we complete the less we defend. We haven't completed quite as well.
Yes you could argue that we put 70 on London but that could have been 80+ or 90+ had we not shipped in 12.
The big indication for me was against Hull. We've been putting big scores in against all but not at Hull.

It's a problem, but it's a far better problem to have than being really stretched and short of players.
