Came out of an exam this morning and saw this. Very sad news indeed. A lovely man and tremendous servant to Warrington Wolves, RL and RU. Thoughts are with his family.



And I echo the request of a minutes silence/applause on Friday and I'm sure the Club will oblige.

Very sad. I still remember Ray French's commentary in the Joe Lydon semi at maine road. "young 17 year old Paul Darbyshire comes onto the field" that was my first memory of him. When I was ballboy, I remember an Alliance game against Wigan and he started a brawl right in front of me. Played with loads of passion and aggression. Did he play at Wembley in 1990?

Yes, Paul was one of a very young centre pairing with Tony Thorniley that day at Maine Road. A bit more experience and he may have seen the Wire through to Wembley that year. A sad loss.

What sad news. Terrible day for people who knew him well, including no doubt, many people still at the club today.



Served our club for 18 years. The overriding words I would associate with Paul are effort and commitment, things he had in abundance. No small amount of talent either - I was proud when I heard he got the job at Munster, by any definition, a giant of the other code.



A Wiganer by birth, a Wire by every other measure.

Always a sad day when a member of the RL communitee passes away, regardless of his colours. Rest in Peace Paul and condolences to his family and friends at this sad time.



I have read there will be a minutes silence to remember Paul, and i sincerely hope that all fans at the game on friday will pay their respects by observing the silence.

Sad news, he always seemed full of life when he was on the pitch or at the side of it.



RIP Paul, 41 is too young to go and Im sure he'll be sadly missed.
